Any tips would be fine. Why are you using the Assault CR in the First place? The regular ones have the SAME RoF, 10+ damage, you only need to smash R1 fast enough....
I thought the same thing. I kill heavies faster with a regular CR and ScR than an ACR, but I do have a very fast trigger finger.

Any tips would be fine. Have your tried hipfiring? Also, it may be one of my favorite weapons of all time, the rate of fire shreds everything, and scares almost everyone. Btw, sensitivity is also just a personal preference. I myself have it WAY down, ads sensitivity is like 20, while hip fire is around 40. Also, invest in a high alpha damage secondary, so you can finish them off if your run out of bullets. I would suggest the breach scram pistol, as it is a slow, high damage weapon. Also, it's a weapon made for people using cover, as you can pop up and send more bullets down range then that rail rifle, or the assault rifle. Like I said earlier it's almost totally personal preference. Been hip-firing, but I noticed the gun would sway past reds way too easily when I'm trying to hip-fire so I believe that the problem lies within the sensitivity (never had this problem with SMGs and the like). That, or I just suck with this thing.
Have any skills in sharpshooter for it? It massively reduces the dispersion rate at longer distances.

Would that be enough, or should I pursue 5?
Well, even level two should be decent enough to help with dispersion problems. I use level 4 and for my regular CR, there's basically no dispersion at all, even at a respectable range. Are you using it for within 10-20% of optimum range or are you going way outside of that?

Yes, AR was super easy and I loved using the thing. If the range wouldn't have been nerfed to only low mid range to CQC I'd still be using it.
I usually don't have much trouble with walking targets. My problem is that I shoot so fast is that I often overshoot. I don't hold fire until I directly am tracking the target. I'll often unload 1/2 a clip while still a bit behind it. Then if I stop and line up, I kill them with the remaining clip.
The main reason I don't like ACR is that for me the firing rate is just too quick. Using a regular CR allows me to either fire it full auto like a ACR from my button technique, or I can just scale back a bit on the trigger and use the burst fire gaps to help with target tracking in CQC while helping conserve ammo and avoiding damage through excessive strafing. I've gone up against tanked heavies inside of buildings and complexes with HMGs or even RRs and killed them face to face. The HMG burst firing ones still get me 90% of the time though.
I've found for ACR though, for taking out walking enemies or those on the move, you are better to rush forward for a closer engagement and rely on crosshairs than the iron sights. Heathen is right though, takes awhile to get down. It took me over 3 months to figure out how to aim well in this game.
